Ocean Waves |
I've always liked the Ocean Waves block, made largely from half square triangles. Here is a large, queen size quilt I finished in 1999. I started it long before then, but back then I hadn't retired yet and I'm rather slow at hand quilting. The scrappy half of the 1920 triangles are an interesting snapshot of my stash of dark fabrics back in the last century.

Penny Squares |
The Uneven Nine Patch block can be used in the sashing to nicely frame other blocks. These penny squares were machine embroideried with a pattern Karen purchased for me. Th diagonal plaid nicely sets off the red embroidery.
